This Hilton campaign ad was written and directed by Adam McKay who also directed TALLADEGA NIGHTS, ANCHORMAN and STEP BROTHERS - this video probably getting more viewership than the later.McKay owns the FUNNY OR DIE web site with pal Will Ferrell. When he saw the McCain ad with the shots of Hilton and Spears, he knew he had to respond so he got on the phone. Within an hour he got in touch with Paris, who agreed to do the spot for free.
Subsequently, in the campaign race, neither McCain or Obama won this week - twas Paris as this mock ad ran on every single news program across the networks and cable.
